CSR Fiskano
We say yes to social responsibility
We at Fiskano B/V are members of the Swedish Fishing Industry Association, which, among other things, promotes sustainable utilisation of our fishery resources, and it is by following the recommendations set by the authorities' stated goals that we take part in our social responsibility.
For us, responsibility is about securing a sustainable future for our children and safeguarding public health.
The certifications of our own production facilities, HACCP, BRC, etc. make it very clear how we manage the environmental aspect. For example, we use special fishing nets designed to prevent dolphins from accidentally travelling with the catch. We work hard to make the best use of our resources and co-ordinate our work as much as possible to avoid wasting resources.
CSA
Aquaculture Stewardship Council
At Fiskano, we can offer ASC-labelled seafood that has been farmed in a responsible and sustainable way. ASC Chain of Custody certification is a relatively new global environmental certification for farmed seafood.
The label ensures that production is managed responsibly and that the fish can be traced back to where it was farmed. The requirements for ASC farming vary slightly depending on the species, location and farming method. ASC certification requires, among other things, that the feed is sustainably harvested and that the water discharged from the farm is purified. It is also important to preserve habitats and biodiversity, and that good animal health is prevented to reduce the use of antibiotics, for example.
IFS
At Fiskano, we are certified to IFS which guarantees food safety, both in terms of transport and storage. The standards also guarantee quality, safety and operational criteria to ensure that producers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer.
CSR
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is basically a concept for a company's social and civic responsibility and, in a broader context, social responsibility, which broadly means that we as a company should take responsibility for human rights and sustainable environmental development.
The goal of CSR for Swedish companies is to do good business for all involved, following rules that ensure that all manufacturing takes place under conditions that are acceptable, and we at Fiskano take this into account in our operations.
MSC
Marine Stewardship Council
Fiskano B/V MSC certification number is: MSC-C-50711
Our products labelled with this certification number come from a fishery certified to the Marine Stewardship Council's environmental requirements for well-managed and sustainable fisheries (www.msc.org).
The MSC is an independent, global, not-for-profit organisation working to protect the world's seafood resources by promoting the best environmental choices and safeguarding existing stocks.
HACCP
At Fiskano, we have an approved Haccp plan, which means that the company reviews all risks in the production chain to ensure safety to the consumer and that we constantly work to continue to minimise the risks.
The Haccp plan also means that we follow the set limits and legislation in place and that we constantly monitor compliance.

Fiskano B/V always complies with existing laws and regulations, but its own rules often go beyond that. Business decisions are based on honest competition, integrity, product quality, price and customer service.
